Cool Hunting links to a surfboard with lights in the rails, fin(s) and logo. Really cool for the early or late surfer.
Popgadget tipped me off to some food storage containers that are really neat. Of course, if the food truly was radiated, you would not need to refrigerate it - that is the concept behind irradiated foods. Anyway, it might give that fridge-raiding thief pause before scarffing your vittles. Of course, the containers might also disappear into the ether too.
From the Detroit Auto Show via New Launches, this pic of the special edition Shelby Cobra GT500KR. Only 1,000 of the supercharged 5.4L V-8s with 540 hp will be made. Seems that the Mustangs and trucks are all that is keeping Ford afloat these days.
I've been a wearer of New Balance shoes ever since I discovered that my wide feet and narrow shoes just do not work. I really like the look of this one. The tartan plaid really sets it apart. Unfortunately, I will have to make a trip to Los Angeles to get a pair. Only 33 retailers worldwide will be getting these. More at Cool Hunting.
Too cool! With some text to voice tech, you could have your email read to you too boot! Uber-Review link and images (link)
Neatorama has a bit on a really fast beer/soda can chiller. But, you gotta have ice, so it won't do you any good without ice, water and a couple of AA batteries. But, if you have all that, it will take about about a New York minute, however long that is.
On the Southwest Airlines blog, a new power station was introduced. It is being field tested at two gates at Dallas Love Field. Note the feedback and SWA's responses. This is a perfect example of corporate blog usage to introduce a product/service and collect feedback from far more people that they would get from those actually using the p/s.
Adpunch has this cool ad for Heinz Hot Ketchup. The thought on the ad there is that the baby is being fed the hot stuff to help them bring the fire out of its mouth. I interpreted it as cooling off the fire the dragon breathes. Perhaps they need to sample the stuff for reference. I find this stuff TAME - but I would not find a fire-breathing dragon's flame tame at all. I do agree on the major point - I like the ad.
I ran across a post at AdJab semi-sorta taking on these plastic shoes. What I do not understand is how anyone can rate any product without having tried it out first. You have to, otherwise you would be expressing an uninformed opinion. Here's my take on Crocs as I commented on at AdJab: When I first saw these, I thought much as you do. Then I bought a pair.
The worst thing about them were the small bumps in the foot-bed, but
after I got used to those, my Birks have languished in a bag of
emergency stuff in the back of my car. That's two years now. They are
very cushiony and you can wash anything that gets on them with a hose
or by wearing them into a shower. I did not buy the finish resurrecter
that keeps them shiny. Watch out if the sole wears smooth and wet
surfaces. Like being on ice. (I spell checked this after the posting).
In an extenson to the above, sorry, AdJab, no sandal does well at keeping your feet dry in the rain. As I did say, once the sole wears smooth, do not wear them on any wet surface. I'll be shopping for a replacement pair in the next couple of weeks. Sandals do not do well at keeping your feet warm in cold weather - plastic or leather.
Well, on the edge of it, but it seems the Westin Hotels use a scent named White tea in some of their public areas to create a mood on arrival; an "arrival experience." According to Customers Rock, so many guests have asked about it that they now sell the scent in candles. So, Westin goes new age with aroma therapy! And off I go to the local teahouse to see what real white tea smells like.
